Ruling

That one's easy. White doubled and Black dropped.
My question assumes the ruling is that the cube must be taken.
Oh.
The phrase "take it" is ambiguous only on the surface. In context, it seems obvious to me that Black meant "take the game."
If there is confusion about what happened, it is 90% White's fault. White did not follow procedure when doubling. ("To double or redouble, a player moves the cube toward his opponent with the higher value face up while saying "double" or words to that effect.") This is what led to the confusion. If White had followed procedure, then Black would have picked up the cube and placed it on his side of the board if actually meant to take the cube. White has nobody to blame but himself if he misinterpreted Black's "take it".
Does the roll stand?
Fortunately, the premature rule favors Black in this case. ("The opponent of a player who rolls prematurely shall complete his turn and then either let the premature roll stand or require a reroll.") So if it turns out Black is taking, he still has the option of having White reroll.
