I guess play B) is to volunteer a shot by staying diverse (i.e. builders on four points) with 8/5? After the no-blot play it seems like the worst that can happen next turn is leaving a blot on the 8-point. White's board still looks potent enough that I'm not willing to risk getting sent back for some diversity (or extra gammon chances if those aren't phantom).
