International Internet Backgammon Federation - IIBGF is delighted to announce the

IIBGF World Cup 1

IIBGF World Cup 1 is open to all players, regardless of their level of play. It attracts world class players competing for titles, as well as advanced, intermediates and beginners.

The tournament will be organized on GridGammon in three stages, with format of double round robin 13pt matches.

The number of promotions will depend on total entries received. The event will be rated with title norms.

The winner of the IIBGF World Cup I will qualify for the IIBGF World Championships finals and will receive title

of IIBGF International Master and qualify directly in the finals of the World Cup II.

Places 2-4 qualify for the IIBGF World Championship Candidates, all other finalists for the IIBGF World

Championship Semifinals and the Semifinals of the IIBGF World Cup II.

Preliminaries stage will last from 15 January 2012-1 May 2012, semifinal stage from 1 May 2012-15 September

2012, and the final stage from 15 September 2012-1 February 2013.

Signups are taken until 15 December 2011 and it's free to enter.

If you don't have nickname on GridGammon, it will be provided free of charge with your national delegate recommendation.
