After hitting, the choice seems to be between buttoning up (24/16) and switching (7/3(2)). The big drawback of switching is that we lose the bar point which is important when playing against the ace point, which probably makes a big cut in the extra gammons from closing a home board point. On the other hand, 24/16 looks a bit too gentle with the cube already turned, but pretty rock-solid, with perpectives of making the better 4-point.
