Tim, it looks like our posts crossed (or rather, I posted mine before seeing your post made a couple hours earlier), but Matt might want to read this link before deciding what to test first.

Matt, a good starting point for testing might be this game, which could be compared in various ways to the Nactation Study. Alternately, some other game from that match or other match would be fine.

Testing all legal plays in Zare's position might be a good way of checking for bugs at some point, though you might have to include colors in the hierarchal scheme and it seems to me that checking the plays manually would be very tedious. The best path will no doubt become clearer as you go.
