Nactation program: prototype

I'll consider the initiative a success if the program can nactate every legal non-whopperish play in the first five moves of the game.
I have a practical personal goal: to translate the nacbracs posted online here and archived by Kye Hedland into machine-readable (XG and GNU compliant) formats to assist my study of the early game. I'd also like to compare nactation reply data posted here directly with Tom Keith's older (but more comprehensive) GNU archive listed in trad. In general, it would great to translate some of the long multi-move nactation strings posted here into XG positions for display.
I'm less concerned with late-game races or situations where the backgammon board has deviated substantially from it's starting configuration. Still, the Zare position would be an interesting test-case to explore the outer limits of the algorithm.
