Your first post suspected I made a mistake in nactating Paul's whimsical 24/21(2) 8/5 6/3 play as y (last February). Your second (replacement) post appears to have recanted, agreeing with my y answer.
However, I may never forgive myself for my carelessness; I was wrong after all. The two portions on the far side can be played 24/18, and though doing so fails to hang onto the 21pt, it's worse to break the 8pt or 7pt (which is closer to the 6pt). The latter two points can both be kept by playing 24/18 13/10 6/3, and that move therefore ranks second.
The correct ranking of the Y family (with owned points in red typeface) is
Y = 24/21(2) 13/10 6/3 (21pt 8pt 7pt)
= 24/21(2) 8/5 6/3.... (21pt 7pt)
y = 24/18 13/10 6/3..... (8pt 7pt)
Y
y = 24/21(2) 7/4 6/3..... (21pt 8pt)
Y = 24/18 8/5 6/3........ (7pt)
y = 24/18 7/4 6/3......... (8pt)In short, the answer to Paul's question is the third member Y (not the second member y). I hope that Paul isn't permanently scarred because I couldn't count to 3. Henceforth when he plays bar/21(2) 8/5 6/3, I trust he'll nactate it correctly.
Assuming you concur, you can re-update if you like. :)
