Thanks for the responses. I did recognize that having a stripped 5pt would blot on 65 and 54, but against this was the fact that 6/3 6/2 blots on 63 64 65. But I hadn't really thought about the extra gammons that 6/3 6/2 would win. Still looks like a difficult tradeoff to assess OTB, but at least I'm alert to more of the relevant issues now.
