We are facing a strong board, have a semi-advanced anchor, and XG has two checkers out of play in a prime vs prime contest. So we like to take the game in a prime vs prime direction. If we attack, even if we are missed we have not accomplished a whole lot, and the prospect for a blitzing type game are not that good (we'd be fighting a better board). So build the position. Then 13/7 looks more natural than 13/8 6/5, sacrificing the last spare on the 6.
