1/ 5a-5a, the gammon value is a higher than usual. Could that fact make this position a double ? First : Is it a take ? definitely yes. The recube vig is high. White as the stronger board so a single return hit can turn the game, the race is for white and blue have only eight checkers in the zone. I guess that the chances are around the usual 65-35 range but the better board for white and the lack of attackers for blue make that the gammon rate should be around 20% for blue and 15 % for white. So No double/take.

2/ My hands are free, his board is crunched. I want to close him out with three checkers and I don't want him to anchor in my board which decrease my gammons. So 14/11* 5/2*. He has the same chance to anchor but I'm sure to have his 3 checkers prisonners. He hits me after that ? no problem, I can continue the fight for the close out and can also have a fourth checkers back in the process.

3/ Gammons don't count for both side. I don't want to hit that allow him to make a second anchor in some variations. He cannot make a second anchor with just 3 checkers. His blockade is not really impressive to be afraid and hit. B23 24/23
