Using XG 2.01, XG Roller++, Unlimited, Max cube value 1,024, I notice these equities after an opening 31:

Jacoby 0.254 No Jacoby 0.234

I expected Jacoby would have been lower. Can someone explain why I am wrong ? Is it that the Jacoby Rule forces you to double quicker than would be ideal with No Jacoby ?

No, I can't. Like you, I would think that having the option to play for the gammon on the 1 level would help you slightly more than than it does your opponent. I would expect the ranking of equities to be reversed (and the difference to be less than .020).

Either the XGR++ evaluator is imperfect (or buggy) or we're overlooking a concept.
