In Response To: Should Major Tournament Events be Allowed to be 'Resolved' by Agreement Rather than by Play? (Bill Riles)

I am not familiar with the event, the players or those contributing to this thread, but in my limited experience as a casual tournament player it seems extraordinary for finalists to arbitrarily adjust the match length.

While there is nothing wrong with finalists hedging or sharing the spoils, the scheduled match length was set for a reason and treating it with disdain is a bad habit that backgammon does not need.

The WSOP would go up in flames if the last two standing decided to run a single hand for the bracelet.
