Mike's original position is just below on the left. Surely P (Point, 13/5(2)) is best, perhaps by a landslide. As Daniel pointed out, upcoming spares on the 5pt will be more useful than spares on the 4pt, the latter of which will amount to dilly builders.

Petter's (13pt-to-8pt) vertical variant is below that. Obviously, the extra spare on the 8pt leans a lot more strongly towards unstacking it with O (Outer, 13/9(2) 8/4(2)). Whether or not O is now right (though I suspect P is still a little better), his variant illustrates a much closer decision.

I offer the horizontal variant (on the right). It is the same as Mike's except White's 24pt anchor is advanced to her 23pt. How should Blue play his 44 on the right?
