There is nothing wrong with Sebastiaan's way of thinking (and by the way, it's Sebastiaan NOT Sabastiaan). Personally, I sometimes make plays that make pip counting easier, like leaving chequers opposite each other (which add up to 25 of course), or leaving a nice symmetrical structure (like some of those that you have rude names for). As long as all other things are equal, there is nothing wrong with this approach.

(I've finally looked up Parcheesi, and I see it's Ludo! And as any dice mechanic will tell you: there's a lot of skill in it.)
