You should split to see a better holding structure against the two outfield points. From the 22, you have a limited number of shots on any blots left on the 10 and 11, after you split, much more. Long term, you do not have the timing to play from the 22, so unless you make a move somewhere, you will crunch your board. Last, combined with the homeboard blots, splitting takes away a point making spot: after 22/21 8/3, 42 does not make the 4 point anymore.

Compared to the earlier position posted by Michael, the race is closer and the board advantage has become bigger, increasing the advantage of the split over staying put.

I'll dig up the Kit's OLM positions.
