Number 1:

Blue has 17/36 moves that make a 5-prime, after that white would have to pass. Blue has no risky moves.

Blue has 38 playable pips (from his midpoint) white has 24 (from his 8-point, taking into consideration that white will make his 4- and 5-point).

Blue has a double, white has a take because of his, somewhat more than 10% racechance and a few indirect shots he will get.

Number 2:

White’s back/holding game is overtimed and he has a gap on the 5-point. Blue has a probable dumpspot on his ace-point in the near future, or has extra gammonchances because of the picked up checkers. Picking up one of the white blots will buy blue time to (pre) clear his 7- or 8-point.

Number 3:

Blue is in need of more structure. 23/14 gives a delta-1 builder which maximises his chance to make another point in front of the white anchors.
