Ghosts in the Analysis: How Common is it to reject the Best Play for a Blunder?

Example: Here, in Michael's 33 position, I instinctively played 21/9 but unsettled on playing 21/15 6/3*(2). Something not so obvious went wrong in the analysis! The implications, here, are far and wide...but what do you think??
