New Major League Baseball Playoff structure (OT?)

In Response To: New Major League Baseball Playoff structure (OT?) (Chuck Bower)

They did this last season. Those three games on the last day of the regular season - two actual elimination games - were widely hailed as the best day of regular season baseball ever produced. So they formalized a proposal laying around for awhile.

The wild card idea has been a huge success. It has produced numerous champions, in both baseball and the NFL.

The real change that should be made: shorten the regular season by a week or two.
