Backgammon Test in Nordic Open

Below is the copy of the official announcement of Nordic Open.

Backgammon Proficiency Test will be held on Friday, 6th 13:00.

#1 Giant "Mochy" made The 50-question backgammon test, which is designed to inform players at every level how well they understand strategic and tactical fundamentals.

It contains sections pertaining to various aspects of the game, including Early Game Play, Middle Game Play, End Game Play, and selected aspects (e.g. techniques for counting pips). Separate scores will be calculated on different sections of the exam. Participants will be able to compare their scores with the average for all participants, as well as those taking the exam in Japan and Las vegas. So far falafel and Michy scored the highest, 44 out of 50.

Mochy hold a seminar about the test next morning (on Saturday, April 7th 11:00), in which he will analyze the positions. The staff score answer sheet and hand a certificate in the seminar.

The fee is 50DKK or 5 euro. It includes Test, Certificate, and Seminar.

The book analyzing the problems will be released shortly after the Nordic by USBGF.
