AtS, it is safer to play for an undoubled gammon then to ship it, risking to face a four with perhaps perfect efficiency for the tiny little beast. It isn't nice to loose four point or resigning quick one point. But a gammon win, bringing us to 2a-8a, is so so sweet. The double hit is a good opportunity, to go in this direction. And doubled and then turnaround can give us also perfect efficiency. If the dice gives you lemons, make lemonade.
