Of course, b-19, 23-20 is better for getting off of the backgammon after 2x. No wonder everyone got it wrong. It's complicated.

I think the hits don't happen often enough to be a primary consideration.

After 12 non-doublet rolls which clear the three point, running is better 6 numbers to 4. That's about 5%.

After 8 numbers (32, 42, 52, 62) which give two turns to get out, b-19, 23-20 is better. I'm not going to count. But, any pair of non-doublets where both contain either an ace or a deuce fail to save the BG after b-16. And most of these will get out after b-19, 23-20. That sounds like a number between 10% and 20%.

The latter sounds like a bigger swing than the former. I'm back to b-19, 23-20.
