Camera setups for videorecording matches?

Do we have reports yet from any who have tried using polarizing filters?
The idea sounds good, but with light coming from several directions in a typical large room, we definitely want to hear from those who have experimented with it.
Good point about the experiment. I think the issue isn't so much light coming from all directions because the reflected light off of a specular surface into a small opening (e.g. camera lens or human eye) subtends a small solid angle and thus comes from more/less one direction.
So... I did the experiment with my eye and a polarized sunglass lens. The big factor turns out to be the angle of reflection off the die. If it's small (as measured WRT perpendicular to the surface) then the polarizer doesn't help. If the angle is large (say 45 degrees or more) then there is considerable improvement in reducing glare.
Bottom line is that if the camera is set up right above the board (or nearly so) then the polarizer doesn't fix the problem IF the light source (e.g. fluorescent ceiling fixture) is also more/less directly over the BG board.
