...What I learnt about BG is don't bury checkers deep early. 2 checkers on the ace pt. dont belong to the game, 1 blot may be hit and we can recirculate it to use efficiently, am I wrong?

This is "old school" and was considered to be proper thinking in the 70's. That was pre-bot. Back then the pipcount/race wasn't given nearly as much consideration compared to purer, blocking play. Of course there wasn't just one way of thinking during that Renaissance and I'm sure some good players disagreed, but the books taught a purer style of play with backgames (in particular) often put on pedestals.

Every principle is right under some circumstances and wrong in others. Learning / figuring out which is which makes this game so challenging.
