1. Even though we're slightly ahead in the race and White has two blots in her board, I'm a little reluctant to break anchor. 13/7 11/7.
2. How is White going to win here? She doesn't have the timing for a backgame. I'd double for sure here and am not sure it's a take. White's main compensation is that she might be able to hit Blue's outfield blots and turn the game around. Blue has 15 non-hitting rolls, and then White has a bunch of indirect shots at Blue's blots. Intuitively it seems that White ought to have a take when Blue has two on the bar, so I guess I take this, though not happily. D/T.
3. 20/16* and 13/9 are the candidates for the 4. (I don't think that making the 5pt can be right here.) 20/16* breaks anchor but it feels to me that we need to send another checker back rather than just try to contain one checker, so that's my choice. The 3 is less clear. 16/13 is the obvious 3, but we could also consider 24/21, 13/10, and 9/6. 24/21 looks like the wrong idea. I think that if we're going to pick up a blot then 16/13 is better than 9/6 since we'd like to make the back of our prime if possible, so 9/6 is out. 13/10 is thematic but it seems a little loose to leave five blots around. I'll go with the obvious 16/13.
