What's wrong with Harrington and Robertie's books? I would always recommend them before anything else to the complete beginner wishing to get good basics on either tournaments or cash. They have series for both, and especially the tournament one is must-read IMO. I am not saying there aren't better books out there, but to beat 95% of live donkeys their books do hell of a good job. Even Harrington on Online Cash Games; 6-Max No-Limit Hold 'em is surprisingly good, better than most online small stakes books I've read.

What authors/books would you recommend?
