Of course 9/7 (2) is far too obvious which means that making the 5 is right. Ex post facto justifications: white's ace point blot and our straggler on the 23. Getting hit leaves some returns and the importance of our man on the 23 is that we really need him to make our prime. As he's not in the area, it makes the priming play less attractive. Something like that anyway.
