ANNOUNCING: A new backgammon program!!!

I'm not Phil (obviously), but I've been studying Stick's article on "opening rules" on Gammon Village and Bill's Blog where he has been categorizing the responses against the slot/split/point etc openings so that you can see commonalities.

Searching bgonline using google ala "site:bgonline "31P-33" often result in not just data and roll-outs but explanations of position alternatives by opening experts on the board.

Drilling is useful for reinforcing things that you've learned but you definitely need to lead with intentional study of the openings to understand how the opening plays can be extrapolated to other positions and how they relate to each other (and more importantly why).

I am also interested in Phil's answer :)
