How do you deal with obnoxious strong players?

When an expert player sits down to play an intermediate over say 9pts, then depending on how expert and how intermediate, we can can expect the expert to win in the region of 60-65% of the matches. When the intermediate wins one of his 35-40%, he has not been "lucky" (although he may of course, and almost certainly has had the best of it), what he has done is win one of the matches that he is entitled to with the level of the skill that he has. Mr Strongbut-Obnoxious for all his good play has not recognised this fundamental fact. He is to be pitied, for he will never, ever get as much fun out of the game as he otherwise might. Mr Classy and his ilk will shake your hand and smile, for they know that in the long run, they will get your money. Nor do they feel that there is much to be said for trying to improve your play, although many of them are surprisingly generous with their time if asked.
