Hi Klaus,

That's Monte Carlo 2007. The fellow next to Falafel is Serge Rived of France, one of France's best players. The guy standing next to Falafel who is saying, "...beware, beware, if you are Falafel you play it like this..." is Michel Serrero, 2006 Champion of Europe.

When I report from tournaments, I always find guys like these joking around in some corner of the tournament, very late at night. It's a lot of fun hanging out with them and you learn a lot.

Falafel is really cool, he is so matter of fact about everything yet he has a good sense of humor. I have a photo of him in a suit, that's rare, and one of him sleeping at a tournament, which I have never published anywhere.
