Daily Quiz 4/18: No takers at all?

1. Blue has an advantage in all aspects of the game so this must be a double. Should still be a clear take, though, since Blue still has to extricate his anchor, and White has no blots to attack.

2. 11pt, 9pt, or 4pt? The 4pt is the best point, but in a mutual holding game, I think we don't want to leave unnecessary shots. Flexibility is also important and 13/9 11/9 looks better than 13/11 8/4 to me.

3. If the cube were already turned, then I think I'd clear the 18pt. Since we're playing on and want to preserve our cash, maybe we should avoid giving White 3 shots from the bar, especially the joker 33? Two down leaves no shots, but also leaves us with our 18pt as a problem point. In recent Daily Quizzes I've been dinged for playing too loosely with borderline play-ons. I'll try to compensate here by playing two down.
