FLORIDA State Championships--Sat. Night Update

Florida state Championships Update: Masters Champion: Michael Corbett defeated Gregg Cattanagh in the finals.

In the Open Division, the final four are: Alex Gerding Vs. Perry Gartner, and Mike Corbett Vs. Neil Kazaross.

Intermediate Champ: Dan Gruby, 2nd Neil Rosensweig.

Winner of the Stupid Award: Carter Mattig flew in from Chicago for the tournament, entered the Masters, and forgot to enter the Open. He noticed his name was missing when the draw sheet was posted and wondered what happened, when he was told that in order to enter a tournament you must inform the tournament director and pay. Carter claimed that since he had not attended many tournaments, how could he be expected to know this? The lucky Carter, however, was able to convince Karen Davis to step aside. (I have no idea how Carter was able to convince Karen, but she was wearing an expensive new ring this morning.)
