Three Rules

Having blundered here, my post analysis revealed three rules of thumb applicable to the position. You may by some other means of deduction determine what the correct play is. However, if your not sure, then try and look for three rules you have knowledge of. Each rule I hope will reveal a piece of the puzzle; a hint that may lead you to the other rules.
