Even if that was an option I'm not sure I'd want it as the default. I don't remember it being an option and I took a quick scan of settings file and still didn't see it available. I didn't write the forum software and my PERL fluency is roughly the same as my German fluency und das ist nicht sehr gut.

I wouldn't risk someone adding such an option even if they did code in PERL.
