Not sure at all, so Iīll put 5.

Backgammon needs a face, thatīs for sure. So often, the faces are not exactly those anyone would put on the cover of GQ magazine.... Those faces vanished in the 80s for the most.

On the other hand, itīs always good to have a list and a ranking of the worldīs best players, like in any other sport (provided the parameters are right). It pushes competition and attracts. Itīs like the leader board of any online game.

Rather than pushing individuals, I prefer to push organisations and bodies (federations, groups, associations, clubs) and come up with the ranking of how successful, how active, how creative, etc....
