Probably misread the dice as 44 or 55. No, on second thought I probably would have doubled.

8/4, 6/1 looks best for the bearoff, and although the race is hard to lose, gammons are in the air.

If you're supposed to leave 3 checkers on the 8-point (QF play?) because it's going to leave fewer shots in the long-run, I wouldn't be finding that.
