I'll vouch for David's honesty without qualm or reservation.
That said, I completely agree that (based entirely on David's own explanation) his deciding to swap results with Sander without Stick's agreement was wrong.
Stick could set a good example by actually squaring with Sander. As could David, by squaring with Stick. Gentlemen, I propose a race to the high ground!
PS I have seen Stick play. Many years ago, after a break of several years, I was at a tournament and was paired with an incredibly egotistical player in the auction, who assured me that: "you probably don't know it, but I am one of the two or three best in the world." Later, I overheard him telling another player that in his entire match (this was years before neural nets) he had made "only two 2% errors." I asked KG who this oaf was, and he assured me that Wilcox was about half as good as he thought he was, which made him awfully good.
I'd say Stick is about half as good as he thinks he is, and his 2.2% was legit.
