What was the prop you and Sander played and which side did you play?

You owe Sander. Sander owes David. David owes you. I don't see the problem in swapping/cancelling out the amounts which can be cancelled out. Pls explain why this is a bad idea.

I fully agree that such a swap can not be made without informing all involved parties. David clearly should have consulted you before making this arrangement.

You don't remember how much you have already paid Sander. Hopefully you remember how much you still owe him. In Danish we have a saying which directly translated to English is "you should not throw stones when you live in a glass house". The meaning of this is that you should not criticize others for their faults if you have the same fault yourself.
