the cube action cannot be d/p as that would nullify the rest of the question. midnight looks like the best joker - 18 7* 2(2) would be my play --- making the 4 risks giving him a chance to play from his 23 anchor, while making the 2 risks him anchoring on his 21. the 23 anchor would yeild him his best residual winning chances (considering the strength of his board and our chances of bearing-in quickly), so disallowing that anchor seems optimal. not escaping 24/18 risks crunching, eww!
