I often make a play like this one by eliminating all other alternative plays. Here as Daniel pointed out, there's no way I'm breaking the anchor and if I'm playing 13/8 the four has to be played 13/9 as continuing to the 4pt is weaker for sure. This still leaves 12 brutal shots and gives up the outfield. One play remains above the rest, like it or not, 6/2 6/1 for me too.

I don't understand the 6a 6a question...I'd make the same play at anything resembling a normal score.
