16 pips evens the count, which makes us behind in the race, not on roll. Racing when behind is sometimes right, when that's the best option, but we have other good options here. So 24/16(2) shouldn't be right. 24/20(2) 13/5 would be a faster board builder, if we didn't mind leaving an outfield blot with our 1-X or 3-X covering, but we do. In comparison, 24/20(2) 13/9(2) looks flat and stodgy at first, but on second glance more flexible than 24/20(2) 13/5.
