Unquestionably Strong

I don't think anyone is questioning that Stick is a strong player. It is obvious from his recorded live matches that he is strong. The question is, just how strong?

Sander, Falafel, Neil are all strong as well. In the last Iancho list, they all played in the 3.0-3.3 range. There seems to be a clumping of world class players around a 3.0, and then there is Stick posting a 2.3 It is an outlier result. Stick is making everyone else look like chumps.

I don't doubt that Stick is very good at backgammon. Where the doubt creeps in is whether he is a mile ahead of the second best player, as his result would imply.

Barry Bonds was perennial all star. Steroids took him from being one of the best players of his time to clearly the best player of all time. The question here is, are we looking at the same sort of thing or is Stick legitimately the best ever?
