London Bookmakers like Simborg

London bookmakers have installed Phil Simborg, education adviser for the USBGF, as the clear favorite to win the 2012 Michigan Summer Championship. Said Bob Grasp of Safe Bets; 'Simborg has been helping start backgammon clubs at high schools and colleges throughout the U.S., but many of the less knowledgeable punters are unaware of what a fine player he is. We suspect he may have learned something about the game while trying to help others.

As you know we don't accept wagers from Americans. We refused one very, very large wager against Simborg from an American punter that tried to pretend he was Danish. He kept saying; 'there is no way Phil can win, please let me bet.' But, Phil must have many people rooting for him because all the small bets seem to be on him to win. I would say he is the sentimental favorite'
