A cube decision

Hello,

I was playing yesterday the final of a friendship tournament (I'm afraid that the level is not really high : more or less all the players have read Magriel, and that's all) in 13 points. The situation was just after the Crawford's game and my opponent was leading 12-10. I opened 2-1 24/23 13/11. My opponent played 4-3 1/5 12/15. Then I doubled. My opponent accepted without any reflexion, but what would have you doing, and why ? And furthermore, can you tell me where I can learn how to play cube ?
