I never looked at this systematically, so I am curious about what is right and how to look at these positions. I agree with your plays, except that in the second position I would just play 13/8. After 13/9 24/23, there are a lot of shots at the builder on the 9, and little duplication (no duplication with numbers that can be used for building). It is my impression that a builder on the 9 is relatively bad after an opening 61
