In The USBGF National Club Team Championship, John Klein of the They Might Not Be Giants team has defeated Frank Raposa of the Beltway Bandits team two matches to zero in the match-up of C-seeds.

TMNBG now has a 1-0 set edge over the Bandits, but Alfred Mamlet, of the Bandit team, leads the match-up of the B-seeds, one match to zero. They play their 2nd match Tuesday on GamesGrid at 7 p.m. EST. The A-seeds are tied 1 match apiece, but will not play the last match for 10 days or more. If Barry Silliman can win the next two matches against Mamlet, TMNBG will be the 2012 Interclub National Champions. If not, we will have to wiat for the final match between the A-seeds to decide the championship.

The two Washington DC Beltway Backgammon Clubs vying for the 2012 USBGF National Interclub Championship: Beltway Bandits - Bob Koca, Alfred Mamlet, Frank Raposa and They Might Not Be Giants - Grant Schneider, Barry Silliman, John Klein. After starting with 42 club teams, the traveling trophy is headed to the Nation’s Capital!
