It is scary , but I would hit.As if you don't and the 8(17) point is made I doubt blue has the timing to escape and the prime gets crunched on blue's side.

Because now white needs a lot of 16 rolls for the 2 checkers on 23 and a quick 6 to gain some extra timing .

Although a different situation I remembered something on rolling a 16 at a 5 prime .It is down under the 16 part
