42P-41-d Position ID: mGfwATDgc/ABMA Match ID: cAkmAAAAAAAE Judging by the XG2 rollout here, and also the GnuBg rollout at BgOnline, three replies are plausible if you want to mix it up.
The usual thinking is that $ = Slot (13/9 6/5) leads to a quick offensive buildup when the blot is missed, and gives you the kind of complex game you desire when a hitting battle erupts.
Against a player who is unsure when to break his 8pt in order to hit loose on his 5pt, U = Up (24/23 24/20) may cause some misplays. It gives up approximately 0.015 in equity, so you’ll need some mistakes to justify it.
S = Split (24/23 13/9) puts you in familiar territory, so you won’t get many mistakes here, but the rollouts confirm that it ties for best. Accepted wisdom, however, is that it won’t give you a complex game as often as the slot.
I’m a donkey (with the PR to prove it), so I play S.
Notes about Nactation
1. As Nack mentioned recently, your Nactations will be a little easier to read if you leave out the hyphens in your dice rolls.
2. You should, however, put a hyphen between moves. See my subject title above for an example.
3. Do not put any questions marks at the end.
4. At DMP, when the move string is given in isolation, you should put -d at the end. When the move string is accompanied by a nacbracs, then the -d is omitted in favor of a d at the beginning of the nacbracs. For example:
Hope that helps.
- Isolated move string: 42P-41-d
- Isolated nacbracs: d[S $4 U17] "<15*2
- Together: 42P-41 d[S $4 U17] "<15*2
