whats the right idea here?

This move is from a game I played today. It's actually my opponents play but I thought it was interesting since I would have played 24/20 23/22 without a lot of thought, I really liked my opponents play here and XG++ says these are top two but I'm surprised that it's this close.

My question to the forum is what would you have done here and why. I love the hit here but wouldn't have made that move myself. Whats the right idea here? I've only done a XG++ eval so no rollout yet.
