Clocks in money game session?

Did anyone ever play live clocked money game session?
What time control would you suggest for it? I think playing something like 2min per pt with 12 secs per move and resetting after each game isn't the best solution, because while some games will be extremely easy, some might require even more time than that, especially if the cube is high.
I was thinking it might be best to play sets of let's say 5 games with something like 10 minutes time bank per player (or maybe less than that?) and 12 sec per move. It seems more interesting as well because it requires time management as an additional skill factor. But how many minutes for the time bank? I would like to make it as close as possible to the amount of time you get when you play a match.
And what would be the penalty for running out of time?
