O'Hagan Wins Olympiad

Today 12 excellent players competed in a one-day Olympiad in Illinois playing DMP, speed Gammon, 2away/4away, and 3away/6away. Rory ran this event to test the clock timing and format...it went for about 6 hours and everyone had a great time.

The group agreed to play Legal Moves and also to allow dice that land on top of checkers to be in play and NOT cocked. The dice had to land on the correct side of the board, however. The baffle box was also used often.

John O'Hagan and Neil Kazaross were neck and neck but John beat Neil in their heads up competition to take the lead and Neil ended up splitting second with Bill Minser of Wisconsin.

There were fine players from Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan. We also enjoyed the company of Istvan Egar, visiting from Budapest, Hungary.

By the way, no one timed out at speed gammon...even Herb Roman was able to finish on time!
